What proportion of emails delivered by marketers ends up in consumers’ junk mail folders, what proportion is flagged as spam, and what proportion is certainly flagged as not spam?

To find out, Return Path analyzed more than 6. nine billion commercial emails sent simply by more than 17, 000 brands within 2018.

The scientists looked at the average spam placement price (percentage of emails that result in spam folders), complaint rate (percentage of emails reported as spam/junk), and “this is not spam” price (percentage of emails reported because not being spam/junk) for brand names in 27 verticals.
