The record was based on information from a survey of more than 1, four hundred local marketers who work possibly in-house for businesses or to get agencies.

Nearly one-third (32%) of respondents say they will believe proximity to the searcher is the central factor that determines a high position in Google’s Local Pack (the small set of local business outcomes that often appears at the top of search outcome pages).

Some 22% of respondents say local lookup is too diverse to identify a single best ranking factor.
